Are there times when you are frantically trying to season your latest AIP dish in order to make it taste better than blah? Would six essential AIP spice blends that you can stock in your pantry simplify your life?
When I plunged into the AIP I couldn’t cope with the lack of flavoring: no black pepper, no cayenne, no paprika, most of all no chipotle. I didn’t have substitutes that worked for me. It wasn’t an easy transition.
Imagine chicken soup without poultry seasoning … tasteless.
Curry without curry powder … boring and bland.
Do you miss the nightshade spices or have you gotten up the nerve to attempt to reintroduce them? I am not there yet.
Meg Nunez, a FaceBook friend, posted two of her homemade AIP spice blends and gave me permission to include them here. These two blends plus three AIP spice blends of my own and one that I borrowed from Eileen Laird of Phoenix Helix make a total of six essential AIP spice blends that are versatile and will boost the flavor of your cooking.
For a wider variety of spices check out Jo Romero’s ebook “Spice” which you can buy on amazon.ca or amazon.com.
